Road Casualties Decline

The Central Bureau of Statistics released its data on road accidents and casualties for 1999. Israel police registered a total of 22,556 road accidents involving casualties. A total of 44,848 people were injured in these accidents, including 3,068 seriously injured and 476 killed. This represents an 11% decline in accidents and a 9% decline in casualties compared to 1998.
